Imagine a salad of the swingiest tunes from the Rat Pack era, the subtle harmonies of Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and Sonny Rollins, plus the jazz/rock of Herbie Hancock, all served up with the boogie blues of Jools Holland and you’ll have an idea of our sound!
“THE KOL PATERSON BAND is a slick 5-piece outfit fronted by Johnny Herbert on alto sax and founder-member Kol Paterson on piano, with superb rhythmic support from Des Hart on Ashbury bass & Leo Laherty on drums, all seasoned professionals in numerous musical genres, and jointly sharing a love of jazz. We now have two attractive and talented vocalists — Cheryl Halliwell, who has a wealth of professional experience (including working as backing vocalist to the Bee Gees!) and Heidi Ward, an exciting new emerging talent on the local jazz scene.
